TRACKCAMP

TRACKCAMP : Quantifying and monitoring Campylobacter during the slaughter process and determining the importance of the production environment [PULSAR Project].

Sofia Strubbia, assistant-professor at SECALIM coordinates and is in charge of this project

Campylobacter is a pathogenic bacterium responsible for gastroenteritis linked to the consumption of contaminated poultry meat. Controlling it at the slaughterhouse requires characterization of the sources of contamination and the factors associated with its persistence in the production environment. The aim of the project is to monitor and quantify Campylobacter contamination during the slaughtering process, and to characterize the ability of strains to persist in the production environment.
